Housed in a 1950’s industrial warehouse, we provide an environment where you can learn, grow, and explore different cultural realms through music, food, and the arts.

Together, we will create memorable experiences in a space that provides access to knowledge and mentorship with caring members, community leaders, partners, and stakeholders. THE GARDEN isn’t a reinterpretation of what has been – it is an evolution of what ought to be.

We plant seeds of love because we believe we can contribute towards a better tomorrow. THE GARDEN supports emerging, conceptual, and experimental practices by interspersing exhibitions of local, national, and international artists.

Our community and impressive network of distinguished members are paired alongside exquisite and diverse programming inspired by locations across the U.S., Caribbean and Afrocentric nations.

WHERE CULTURE AND COMMUNITY
IS LUXURY – EVOLVED.

IN LOVING MEMORY
OF DAVID TUPPER

THE GARDEN exists in the former studio of accomplished artist David Tupper, best known as “Tupper”. While in this space, he hosted countless open studios and was known for his oil paintings and sculptures. Before this, he worked out of Bake House Art Complex in Wynwood.

Originally from Annapolis, Maryland, and a 3rd generation Artist who found his calling in his youth, he indulged in Summer Programs that encouraged him to research his favorite artist, style, and purpose. From there it was always art. In the early 90’s, he found himself in New York City selling his work out of restaurants. This is when he started to develop the unique style he called “Linealism".

After leaving New York and returning home, he was welcomed by a significant economic boom. He kept himself busy with commissioned paintings for private residences and businesses before moving to Miami.

Along with being a practicing artist, Tupper joined the Miami Beach Botanical Garden in 2019. He was instrumental in event setup and overall garden maintenance. Tupper illuminated the garden for evening events, adding pops of color to enhance the landscape. He was often the first person that visitors met as he welcomed them at the gate and shared details about the "n garden highlights, always working to make their experience memorable.

Whether painting fences, jackets, or sketching garden plants or wildlife, he was always exploring his unique style of painting and sculpture.

David served in the U.S. Army and was in Operation Desert Storm.
